Space age design

Literally. Take a look at this.
Meet Fred.

Contrary to appearances, this thing that landed on our doorstep isn’t a sleek spaceship operated by tiny orange aliens.

So, guess? (Or scroll down.)

It’s a humidifier called Fred. Really.

By the Swiss company Stadler Form AktienGesellSchaft. It landed on our doorstep all right, but not under its own steam (or jet fuel or solar energy or whatever it is alien spaceships are powered by); it came by postal delivery inside a double cardboard carton.

Now: what about the orange guy? Put your guesses in the comments.
